Tournament Overview
The PrimeTime Sports National Basketball Championship will be headquartered in Plano, TX and will include gyms located throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex on July 27-31, 2005. The National Championship offers outstanding competition, excellent facilities, and many activities to make it a wonderful family event in addition to a great basketball tournament.
The PrimeTime Sports National Championship is the fastest growing youth national basketball tournament in the country! Last year more than 445 teams participated in the National Championship and more than 600 teams are expected this year. Cynthia Cooper, WNBA great, spoke to a crowd of 5,500 players, coaches and fans at the 2004 Opening Ceremonies in the historic Loos Fieldhouse. She joins the list of outstanding guest speakers from previous years--Derek Harper (Dallas Mavericks), Wayne Simien (University of Kansas), and Greg Dreiling (Dallas Mavericks).
The Entry Fee for the PrimeTime Sports National Championship is $395 per team. The tournament will offer a four game minimum, with half the field playing 5 or more games. A regulation clock will be used for all National Championship games. The scorekeeper and timekeeper will be provided by PrimeTime Sports for all National Championship games.
PrimeTime Sports is proud to announce that the 2005 PrimeTime Sports National Championship will be held in combination with the 2005 Global Games. The Global Games highlight the rising stars in the world of international basketball and promote the growth of international basketball in the United States. The Global Games will feature the USA 21 & under team, as well as 7 international teams, including teams from Lithuania, Russia, Israel and Africa. Prior participants in the Global Games include Yao Ming, Deron Williams, Dee Brown, Chris Bosh, Luke Ridnour, Carlos Boozer, and Vladimir Radmanovic. This basketball partnership will offer many opportunities to PrimeTime Sports National Championship participants:
- Participants can purchase discounted tickets for this outstanding international basketball event.
- Global Games teams will participate in the Opening Ceremonies for the National Championship.
- Selected National Championship games will be played at the same venue as the Global Games are being played.
How To Qualify
Teams can qualify for the PrimeTime Sports National Championship in three different ways:
Qualifier Tournaments. PrimeTime Sports will host qualifying tournaments throughout the year. The qualifiers are identified on the Tournament Schedule page.
Qualifier Points (Q Points). Each Tournament Series, the Fall Challenge, Winter Blast, Spring Shootout, and Summer Hoops Tour, offers National Championship qualifying by Q Points.
A team is awarded Q Points based upon placing at each PrimeTime Sports tournament:

Example: Team A places 2nd in a Summer Hoops Tour tournament with a 4-1 record. Team A will receive 11 points, 7 points for 2nd place, plus 4 points for the 4 wins.
The top 3 teams in each division at the end of the Fall Challenge, Winter Blast, and the Spring Shootout and the top 5 teams in each division at the end of the Summer Hoops Tour and the All Season Total qualify for the National Championship. In addition, the top 5 teams for All Seasons combined will qualify for the National Championship.
Current Q point Standings:
At-Large Invitations. While most teams will enter the PrimeTime Sports National Championship though our qualification process, we will extend a few at-large invitations to deserving teams. The At-Large invitations are intended to maintain the competitive level of the tournament and expand the geographic diversity.
