Updates

Updates are recent announcements and press releases of interest to our coaches, teams and guests:

November 1, 2005. Important Eligibility Rules Change. As an organization, PrimeTime Sports is committed to competitive excellence. As part of this commitment, we value and encourage feedback from participating teams to improve our events. Based upon this feedback and our own event experiences, PrimeTime Sports has modified the player eligibility rules beginning December 1, 2005, to provide that player eligibility will be based solely upon grade, without any age exceptions. This change will apply to all future basketball tournaments, including the National Championship. For more information on the change, click on Tournament Rules or Rules Change Announcement.

November 1, 2005. 2006 Winter Blast Tournament Series Announced. The 2006 Winter Blast schedule, including the Entry Form and Participation Agreement, are now available on-line. PrimeTime Sports is offering 10 tournaments during the months of December, January and February. The schedule includes 5 Qualifiers for the PrimeTime Sports National Championship, with the top 3 in each division qualifying for the 2005 National Tournament. All 2006 Winter Blast tournaments will be a three game guarantee for $195, with a multiple tournament discount available for early registration. For more information, please visit our Tournament Schedule and National Tournament pages.

August 5, 2005. PrimeTime Sports National Basketball Championships Won. Following play by 504 teams in 1,397 games at 42 gyms throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, including Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Denton, Farmers Branch, Keller, and Crowley. Fourteen National Championships were won in the 2005 PrimeTime Sports National Championship.

"It was an outstanding four days of basketball with terrific competition in all divisions", said David Stephens, National Director for PrimeTime Sports. "We want to congratulate our 14 National Champions and thank all the teams for making PrimeTime Sports the fastest growing national basketball championship in the country".

The event tipped off last Wednesday with over 7,000 people attending opening ceremonies at Loos Fieldhouse, with Dallas Mavericks Head Coach, Avery Johnson, as guest speaker. The evening's festivities also included appearances by Fran Franschilla (ESPN), Phil Mortelli (Head Coach, St. Joseph University), and Team USA 21U team.

"We appreciate the support we have received from Plano and the Dallas Metroplex and look forward to returning the championships to the Dallas Metroplex in 2006", Stephens added. The PrimeTime Sports 2006 National Tournament will be held July 26-30, 2006.
